I have hired my first employee! Since I opened my office on July 1, 2013, I have been the sole attorney, receptionist, secretary and head dishwasher. On March 2, 2015, Harlee Cuomo joined me as my legal assistant. She has quickly become invaluable and I’m not sure how I did everything without her help for my first year and a half. This is a big change for me and I’m sure it’s also a big change for clients who were used to me always answering the phone and greeting them when they came to the office. I’m taking this opportunity to introduce Harlee through my blog. Please call or stop in the office to speak with her or meet her in person.

Harlee and her husband Chris are expecting their first child together in late June. Since the world revolves around me, I’m already wondering how I will handle everything while she is gone for a while over the summer. Harlee has a degree in criminal justice from Penn State and expects to complete her paralegal certification in June 2015. Then she will officially be my paralegal instead of my legal assistant.

Harlee is extremely organized and has lots of office experience. She is intelligent, personable and pleasant and everyone who has met her in the office has told me I’m lucky to have her. I agree with them. She will most likely be answering the phone when you call and greeting you when you walk into the office. She is quickly learning the basics of divorce and related family law matters, estate planning, mediation and the collaborative law process.

By the third week working with me, Harlee recommended that I create a Demmel Law Office Facebook page. The thought had occurred to me in the past, but I had no idea where to start and was rather intimidated because I’m not very familiar with Facebook. With Harlee’s help and guidance (not to mention her fearless clicking on buttons within Facebook), we created a Facebook page and we were soon counting the “Likes” from family and friends. I invite you to check out and “Like” the Demmel Law Office Facebook page.

It’s a pleasure having Harlee join me and I’m sure our clients will agree. If you live or work in central Pennsylvania, including Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey and surrounding communities and would like to discuss Harlee’s addition to my office or any other family law or estate planning issue, please contact me.
